Overview

Crazy Ray's Auto Parts at 2801 Hawkins Point Rd, Baltimore, MD 21226

Crazy Ray's Auto Parts is a Baltimore salvage yard where you can find used auto parts for cars, trucks, and motorcycles. The yard runs on a self-service model—you find the part, remove it, and pay for it. Open Monday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, it’s a go-to spot for DIYers, mechanics, and anyone looking for affordable used parts. Founded in 1996, the business has expanded to multiple locations while keeping prices low and inventory stocked.

Services & What to Expect

Crazy Ray's is a self-service salvage yard, meaning you handle the search and removal of parts yourself. The yard provides tools like wheelbarrows and engine hoists to help with the work. Parts are sold as-is—no warranties or guarantees—with a selection that includes engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior components for domestic and foreign vehicles.

The yard doesn’t offer towing or vehicle dismantling. You’ll need to bring your own tools if you require anything beyond what’s provided. Prices are set per part, and payment is due at checkout. The business doesn’t buy junk cars or offer cash-for-cars services—it focuses on selling used parts.

If you have an old vehicle you no longer need, consider selling it for cash for junk cars before visiting a salvage yard. It can help you avoid disposal fees and put some money back in your pocket.

What to Bring

  • Tools for removing parts (if you need more than what’s provided)
  • Gloves and safety gear (the yard is a working salvage environment)
  • A list of parts you need (to save time searching)
  • Cash or a card (both are accepted for payment)
  • Transportation for parts (some components are heavy or bulky)

Still decent for parts, but the prices have gotten so bad lately that you might as well skip the hassle and just order from another yard where they don’t make you do all the work yourself. ---

Ordered a rim online and their search tool actually had a picture of the exact part I needed—wheels still on the car, even. Showed up with my jack and tools, ready to wrestle the thing off myself since the sign says "You pick, you pull." Turns out someone already yanked all the tires off the car I needed. Saved me a headache, but I wish I’d known ahead of time so I wouldn’t have dragged all my gear through the yard for nothing. At checkout, they hit me with a surprise fee for the dried-out tire still stuck on the rim. Told them I didn’t want it, but they said no dice—had to pay for both. Still, $200 cheaper than a new OEM rim, so I’ll take it. Next time, I’ll call first to avoid the extra hassle. Otherwise, solid place. ---

Got into it with the guy at the register because he kept charging me the wrong price for the parts I was buying. Even after I pointed it out, he still tried to ring up the wrong item. First location was a nightmare—the older woman behind the counter was downright rude for no reason. But when we went to the Hawkins Point branch? Completely different story. The guy at the door was polite, helpful, and actually listened. I’ll be going back there from now on. ---

Been coming to this place—now LKQ—for over 15 years. Watch your wallet, though, because you might walk in for a headlight and walk out with a whole new set of rims or tires. The deals are that good. You’re on your own for pulling parts, so bring your tools, but if you’re stuck, plenty of people will lend a hand. Their inventory is the best I’ve seen on the East Coast. ---

The yard was packed with people and their toolboxes, all hunting for parts. We were after a tiny Mercedes-Benz piece we never found, but we did grab something close enough to test out—though it cost way more than it should’ve. Honestly, though, I didn’t mind the whole experience. Felt like tinkering in a garage without a boss breathing down my neck. No stress about breaking something while digging for parts. Made for a pretty good day, even if we didn’t get exactly what we wanted.
