I showed up at this scrap yard this morning to sell some metal parts from my Ford Escape, and the guy working the gate tried to brush me off. Told me to just toss them in the dumpster instead of paying me for them. As a deaf person, that wasn’t just rude—it felt like he didn’t even want to deal with me. I told him I’d take my business somewhere else and left. If you or someone you know gets treated like this, go straight to the office manager. Don’t let them get away with it. ---

The prices here are a joke. Everyone was friendly enough, and the whole process was quick, but I could’ve gotten four or five times more for the same scrap just 10 miles down the road. Back in the day, this place paid top dollar, so I figured I’d stop by since I was in the area. Big mistake. I’m not getting that money back, but I’m warning anyone else—don’t waste your time here. ---

Don’t trust the quotes you get over the phone. They’ll lowball you after you’ve already dropped off your scrap, claiming it’s lower grade than what they promised. Happened to me—got a decent number on the call, then they cut it in half once I handed it over. ---

Got a call saying they’d pay for my scrap, so I drove over with my truck. Total mess from start to finish. No one told us where to go, so we just sat there waiting. After a few minutes of nothing, we honked—still no response. We figured we’d just get weighed and unload, but the whole place was a disaster. No direction, no help, just chaos. I didn’t even bother leaving my copper. Never coming back. ---

Sold them my OEM catalytic converter, and they gave me $30. Later, I looked it up and realized they totally screwed me. They didn’t weigh it, didn’t check it—just glanced at it and gave me the same price as a cheap aftermarket part. OEM converters are worth way more, like over $100. Should’ve known better.

Let me tell you, I’ve been to S&S Auto Salvage three times now, and twice I got screwed over. The first time, I dumped my truck load and headed to the office, only to have some guy tell me he’d accidentally handed my cash to a guy in a *van*—not my *pickup*. Like, seriously? A white van and a white pickup look *that* similar? He tossed me $20 like it was supposed to fix things. The second visit was fine, but the last one was a joke. I hauled in a 760-pound stainless steel commercial oven, and they acted like it was just some flimsy sheet metal. $45 and change? That’s insulting. I’m done with this place, and you should be too.
