Overview

LKQ Montgomery at 5112 Lower Wetumpka Rd, Montgomery, AL 36110

LKQ Montgomery is a self-service auto salvage yard at 5112 Lower Wetumpka Rd in Montgomery. It’s part of LKQ Corporation, a national chain that sells used and new auto parts. Customers can browse the yard for parts, pull them themselves, or order online. The yard focuses on affordable, quality used parts for repairs and restorations.

The yard is open weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It closes early on Fridays and stays shut on weekends.

Services & What to Expect

LKQ Montgomery lets customers find and remove their own parts from salvaged cars. The yard stocks common parts like engines, transmissions, doors, and bumpers, along with harder-to-find items like wiring harnesses and suspension pieces.

How Self-Service Works

During open hours, customers can walk the yard to find the right vehicle. Parts are sold by the car—not by the piece—so you pay for access to a specific vehicle to take what you need. The yard provides basic tools, but bring your own if you need something specialized. Once you’ve removed the parts, pay at the counter based on the vehicle’s listed price.

What to Bring

  • A valid ID or driver’s license
  • Cash, credit, or debit card for payment
  • Tools for part removal (if the yard’s tools aren’t enough)
  • A vehicle to haul parts (many are heavy and bulky)
  • Gloves and safety gear (recommended)

Other Services

Besides self-service, LKQ Montgomery offers:

  • Online part ordering through their website
  • Real-time inventory checks for specific parts
  • Parts for domestic and foreign vehicles
  • Occasional deals on popular items (check their site for updates)

If you need to sell an old car, this location doesn’t handle purchases. LKQ Corporation has separate programs for that—visit their vehicle acquisition page for options.

This location doesn’t handle car purchases. LKQ Corporation has separate programs for selling junk cars—check their vehicle acquisition page for details.

What kind of parts can I find at LKQ Montgomery?

The yard carries a wide range of used parts, including:

  • Engines and transmissions

  • Brake parts (calipers, rotors, pads)

It’s straightforward: arrive during open hours, find the vehicle with your parts, remove them using the yard’s tools (or your own), and pay at the counter based on the car’s price. No appointments are needed. The yard runs on a first-come, first-served basis during open hours. If you’re after specific parts, visit early—popular items can sell out fast.

Are there any restrictions on what parts I can remove?

You can remove most parts, but catalytic converters are off-limits due to environmental rules. If you’re unsure about a part, ask staff before taking it.

Three years later and I still can’t believe how bad this place screwed us over. We bought a Honda Odyssey engine from them, and within days of installing it, the thing was running hot—like, dangerously hot. When we called them out on it, they just pointed to some sensor inside the engine that said it overheated and claimed that meant the warranty was void. Seriously? That’s the kind of shady nonsense that makes you question why they’re even in business. ---

Calling for a price quote was a nightmare. The person on the phone acted like I was wasting their time, and honestly, I felt like *they* were wasting mine. If this is how they treat customers over the phone, I can’t imagine how they’d act in person. Someone needs to tell that woman it’s time to hang up the phone for good. ---

I’ve bought a bunch of engines and transmissions from this place over the years, and every single one has worked perfectly. No surprises, no headaches—just parts that do what they’re supposed to. If you need something reliable, this is the spot. ---

Avoid this company like the plague. They’re a scam through and through. I’ve been fighting for eight months to get a motor installed under their warranty, and every time I call, it’s the same runaround. They’ll drag this out forever if you let them. Don’t bother—your money and sanity aren’t worth it.

Four days of my life I’ll never get back. They kept telling me my part was ready, then when I showed up, it wasn’t. “Sorry, not today.” “Come back tomorrow.” After the third time, I realized they were just stringing me along. Never again. If you value your time, stay far away. ---
