Heilmeier's Auto Salvage at 402 Hickory St S, Foley, AL 36535

Heilmeier's Auto Salvage is a self-service auto salvage yard at 402 Hickory St S in Foley. The yard sells used auto parts to individuals and repair shops. Customers search for and remove parts themselves, and the yard is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Services & What to Expect

Heilmeier's is a self-service yard, so customers find and remove parts on their own. The yard doesn’t retrieve parts or offer help with removal. You’ll find engines, transmissions, body panels, electrical components, and interior parts from donated or towed vehicles. All parts are sold as-is, with no warranties.

The yard is open to the public, but you’ll need to bring your own tools—wrenches, sockets, and possibly a jack or lift. Some parts may need an air compressor or specialty tools. Heilmeier's doesn’t provide tools or help, so come prepared.

If you have a junk car, Heilmeier's may buy it for recycling. Many salvage yards, including this one, pay cash for vehicles. For details, check the cash for junk cars page.

  • Tools for part removal (wrenches, sockets, etc.)

Services Provided: Full-Service Salvage and Recycling

Heilmeier’s Auto Salvage operates as a full-service salvage yard , focusing on automotive recycling and parts reuse. Unlike self-service junkyards where customers remove parts themselves, Heilmeier’s professional staff handles the dismantling process, ensuring proper extraction and handling of valuable parts.

Core Services

  • Used Auto Parts Sales : The yard specializes in dismantling vehicles to salvage reusable parts for resale. Their inventory spans various makes and models, providing options for customers seeking affordable repair solutions.
  • Vehicle Acquisition : Heilmeier’s purchases used cars, trucks, and vans, offering cash for junk cars in various conditions. Their towing service makes it convenient for sellers to transport vehicles to the yard.
  • Environmental Recycling : Beyond parts sales, the business demonstrates a commitment to responsible recycling, properly disposing of fluids, metals, and other materials that can’t be reused.

While their operational model focuses primarily on selling used auto parts rather than whole vehicles, Heilmeier’s connection to the Hollander Parts network suggests they may offer shipping options for customers unable to pick up parts in person.

This place sold me a starter I didn’t even end up needing, so I brought it back five days later. The guy handling the return put the refund on my friend’s card instead of mine—which made zero sense—and then took $30 off the amount I was owed. The whole thing was a mess. He was rude, grumpy, and clearly didn’t care. I’m still waiting for the money to actually show up on her card, and honestly, this might be the worst business experience I’ve ever had. ---

This place has 15 acres of cars for parts, and the owners have been running it for over 40 years. If you go, wear boots—it’s not exactly clean. The prices are fair, and they’re open Monday through Friday. Simple as that.

I’ve dealt with Terry at Heilmeier’s Auto Salvage a few times now, and every time, he’s been great. The guy’s honest, knows his stuff, and treats you like a person—not just another customer. His prices are fair, and honestly, it’s just nice to do business with someone who doesn’t make you feel like you’re wasting their time. I don’t trust online sellers or people who don’t know cars, so Heilmeier’s is where I go. Thanks, Terry—you’re one of the good ones. ---

I love old cars, so when I got the chance to check out another salvage yard, I jumped on it. The humidity and salt air down here don’t do the sheet metal any favors, and you can tell—most of the cars had some serious rust. Coming from inland where things stay drier, I’m used to finding parts in better shape, but it was still fun to poke around. The only downside? The mosquitoes were brutal. ---

For over 15 years, Dorothy relied on these folks for cars and parts. Single moms need good people in their corner, and these are the best. They’ve helped us out more times than I can count. God bless every one of them—thank you for everything. ---
