Overview

Camarillo Recycling, Inc. at 849 Via Alondra, Camarillo, CA 93012

Camarillo Recycling, Inc. is a self-service auto salvage yard and scrap metal dealer at 849 Via Alondra in Camarillo. Customers can browse and remove parts from junked vehicles on their own. The yard carries late-model domestic and foreign car parts, including engines, transmissions, alternators, starters, and other common components. It’s a good place to find used parts at lower prices than new or dealership options, though the business doesn’t offer professional repair services.

Services & What to Expect

This is a self-service salvage yard, meaning you handle part removal yourself. The yard doesn’t provide professional disassembly or installation, but it offers access to a large inventory of used auto parts. Tools are available for customers to use, and the facility is open to the public during business hours. Bring your own tools and safety gear.

Parts Available

  • Engines and transmissions (domestic and foreign)
  • Alternators and starters
  • Brake parts (calipers, rotors, pads)
  • Suspension components (shocks, struts, control arms)
  • Exhaust systems (mufflers, catalytic converters, pipes)
  • Body panels and trim

How Self-Service Works

You enter during open hours, find the part you need, and remove it yourself. Staff may answer basic questions, but there’s no guided help. Payment is made at the front office based on the part’s listed price. The yard doesn’t offer warranties, so buyers take all risk.

What to Bring

  • Tools (wrenches, sockets, pry bars, jack)
  • Gloves and safety glasses
  • Transport (truck, trailer, or space in your vehicle)
  • Cash or card for payment
  • Vehicle ID (if matching parts to your car)

There’s a recycling place closer to me, but I always drive the extra 20 minutes to this one. Why? Because they actually move fast, they pay fair prices, and the staff don’t just stand there—they’ll help you sort everything out without making you feel like you’re wasting their time. ---

Before we even showed up, I called to check the copper prices—guy on the phone said #1 copper was $2.90 a pound, and if it was bright and shiny, they’d pay $3.00. Sent my warehouse guy in with three barrels of the stuff, and they only gave us $1.70. Not sure what happened there, but the price quote was way off. ---

I’ve been coming here for years, and the people are always good to work with. They’ll help you out no matter what, but honestly, if you show up with everything mixed together, you’re just making it harder on yourself—and the people waiting behind you. A little prep goes a long way. ---

The staff here are seriously the best. Alejandro took the time to explain how copper recycling works and made sure I understood everything. He was great at communicating, and the rest of the team is just as friendly. The whole place has a good vibe—easy to drop off your stuff and feel like you’re actually getting decent service. ---

This place is the real deal. They even opened early just to take care of people, and I’ve never seen that kind of effort at other recycling centers. Everything’s organized, the access is smooth, and it’s clear they run a tight ship. You can tell they’re the kind of people who go all out in whatever they do. Keep it up—you’re doing it right.
