Some customers report inconsistent pricing and service, while others mention exceptions like free storage when a car was stolen.

Services & What to Expect

Black Lane Auto Parts is a self-service salvage yard. You find and remove parts on your own without staff help. The yard specializes in vehicle recycling and parts sales, with a wide selection of components like engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior parts. Parts for both domestic and foreign vehicles are available.

How Self-Service Works

The process is simple: walk in during business hours—no appointment needed. Parts are organized by make, model, and year, but you may need to search through the lot. Tools for removal are usually on-site, but bringing your own is a good idea. Once you’ve found and removed the parts, pay at the office before leaving. No experience is required, but expect outdoor, hands-on work.

What to Bring

  • Your vehicle’s VIN or part numbers for what you need.
  • Basic hand tools if you don’t want to use the yard’s tools.
  • Gloves and safety gear, as the environment is industrial.
  • A way to transport parts, like a truck or trailer.

Customer Experience Notes

Reviews from customers vary. Some complain about pricing, like paying $75 for a used window regulator when a new one was available online for $40. Others mention poor communication, such as being told to leave without help. However, there are positive stories too, like one customer who got free storage for four days after their car was stolen.

What a scam. Tried to sell me a used window regulator for $75 when I could’ve bought a brand-new one online for $40. Total waste of my time. Went to MJ Salvage instead—same day, got the part for $15. Don’t bother with this place. ---

Ordered a steering column with an airbag and extra buttons—something better than what I already had. Had to make three trips just to pay and pick it up, but when they pulled it out of the car, it didn’t even work. They said they had another one I could buy instead. Next day, I get the "replacement"—turns out it’s the exact same one I already own. No airbag, no functionality, and the clock spring and connectors were torn out. Completely useless. Paid nearly $200 for junk. They just wanted to cover their own mistake. Never coming back here—111 Salvage or pick-and-pull from now on. ---

My buddy bought rotors and a hub bearing here, and it turned out to be way overpriced. Almost $80 for used parts, but he found out later he could’ve gotten the *new* ones for $63. When he asked why they were charging so much, they just said, "We’ll charge what we want." No explanation, no care. Just greedy. ---

Pulled up to the lot, and the first thing the guy said was to get off their property—like I was in the way or something. I wasn’t even near the shed, just parked on the far side of the lot at 10:30 in the morning. No warning, no "how can I help you," just "get out." Not dealing with that attitude again.

These guys saved me when my car got stolen. They let me keep it on their lot for four days while I waited for the police to find it, and the owner didn’t even charge me a storage fee. That’s just… really kind. Not every place would do that. Black Lane, you’re the real deal—thanks for being so understanding. ---
